The Warrensburg Schools Foundation has named the Warrensburg Parks and Recreation Department as a new Partner in Progress to update the safety and equipment of the Ridge View Elementary Playground, according to a press release.  Together WPR and the Foundation will host the “Color Splash 5k and Tiger Cub Run” to celebrate Warrensburg High School homecoming, Saturday, Oct. 12. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the run to begin at 9 a.m. from the Warrensburg Community Center. Proceeds will benefit the Ridge View Elementary Playground project.
“Warrensburg Parks and Recreation is excited to be a new Partner in Progress with the Warrensburg Schools Foundation,” WPR Director Dodee Matthews stated. “We believe the Color Splash 5K is a great opportunity to bring the community together to support the Ridge View Elementary Playground project while providing a recreational activity for families. This event brings both WPR’s mission and the Warrensburg Schools Foundation mission together and this is a win-win for the community.”
The Color Splash 5k runners will enjoy splashes of color throughout the run and receive Tiger Spirit beads at each school along the route.  The Tiger Cub runners will receive a special tiger paw medallion.  Extra bags of color will be available to purchase at the registration table for participants and on-lookers to take part.
Register for the community wide event at the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 E. Gay Street or through the WPR website at  More information about the Color Splash 5k and the Partners in Progress campaign to update the Ridge View Elementary playground can be found at
