Mid-Missouri Artists announce class offerings

Mid-Missouri Artists have organized the following classes offered through Warrensburg Parks and Recreation in September:
Artist and art educator Linda Hoover will instruct people in Beginning Drawing Saturday, Sept. 7. She will cover a variety of basic drawing techniques. Visitors to the Missouri State Fair may have seen Linda’s “American Gothic” mural on the east side of the Fine Arts Building.
Beginning Watercolor will be taught by artist Donna Morris and will include paper preparation, paint qualities, brushes, and techniques specific to watercolor. The class will meet for four Saturday sessions beginning Sept. 28.
Rosemary Ferkovich has planned a Halloween wood project Saturday, Sept. 21 that can be worked on by a parent and child as well as an individual. Participants will complete a 1½ foot tall standing black Halloween cat. Materials and tools will be provided.
Warrensburg Parks and Recreation also offers a pottery class taught by potter Elizabeth Socolofsky-Howe. This eight-session class meets on Tuesdays beginning Sept. 17.
Registration information is in the fall 2013 Parks and Recreation Activity Guide, available in the Community Center and online.
