New restaurant coming to Warrensburg in late October

By NICOLE COOKE (digitalBURG) – A new restaurant will be added to the list of dining options in Warrensburg in late October.
Jimmy John’s will be opening a new location at 218 E. Culton, taking the right half of the space currently occupied by Family Video.
Nate Ridenhour, co-owner and general manager of the new restaurant, said Family Video will be downsizing and Jimmy John’s will have about 1,600 square feet on the right side of the building.
The popular sandwich shop will have seating for about 44 customers, as well as patio seating for eight. Ridenhour said the new location will be slightly larger than the average location, and will be the first in the area to utilize a new store design.
“It’s close to campus, and I think Warrensburg is going to be a good spot for it,” Ridenhour said. “I think it’ll be a good fit for Warrensburg.”
Ridenhour, currently a manager at Heroes, will be headed to Champaign, Ill., in a few weeks for training at Jimmy John’s headquarters, followed by a four week apprenticeship at a different Jimmy John’s location. He has to have all his management staff hired before his trip to Illinois, so he and his business partner are looking to hire managers for the new location within the next few weeks.
The job posting on the Jimmy John’s Facebook page says they are looking for someone that will be “responsible for the effective execution of fast, accurate orders and exceptional customer service.”
All other employees will be hired in September, closer to the store’s opening.
To apply for one of the current openings, contact Ridenhour at [email protected].
