Two Green Ridge residents killed in hit-and-run

(JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo., digitalBURG) – Two Green Ridge, Mo., residents were killed and two were seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident Sunday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Ronald D. Harvey, 53, and Vickie L. Brandkamp, 54, were killed in the accident, which was reported at 12:28 a.m. Sunday some six miles east of Powell Gardens, according to Highway Patrol reports.
Two other passengers, Kelly D. Neth, 47, and Keith D. Roth, 47, both of Green Ridge, were seriously injured as well. Neth was taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, and Roth was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
Harvey was driving east on U.S. 50 just east of Northwest 375 Road when he was rear-ended by another vehicle. This caused him to drive off the road, overturn and strike a tree, according to Highway Patrol reports.
The driver of the second vehicle left the scene of the accident.
None of the four occupants were wearing seat belts, according to trooper reports.
