Springfield police cordon area after shooting

(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., AP) – A Springfield police detective has been grazed by a bullet and slightly wounded while serving a search warrant at a residence.
KTTS reports that early Friday police blocked off sections of the neighborhood where residents reported hearing gunfire.
Lt. Ben King says police officers returned fire after they were fired on and apparently struck the suspect, who remained inside the home late Friday morning. Lt. Ben King said the suspect was hit but it’s unclear how badly he was wounded.
King says the detective grazed by the bullet was treated at the scene for the injury.
King would not explain the nature of the warrant.
A police command center has been established near where the shooting occurred, and several officers were still on the scene late Friday morning.
