WMMC chief medical officer accepts new position

(Warrensburg, Mo.) — Michael C. Misko, vice president of Medical Staff Services and chief medical officer at Western Missouri Medical Center, has accepted the position as chief medical officer at Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Bolivar, Mo.
His last day at WMMC will be April 3.
“On behalf of the Medical Center, I want to thank Dr. Misko for his role as our Chief Medical Officer for nearly five years and his many contributions over the past 22 years at WMMC,” said John F. Smolen, president and chief executive officer. “We wish him continued success in his future endeavors—he will be missed.”
During Misko’s tenure as CMO, WMMC saw the growth of the medical staff and expansion of specialty services, including interventional pain management, cardiology, pulmonology/critical care, rheumatology, and the expansion of hematology/oncology services and family medicine practices in Holden and Knob Noster.
Misko joined WMMC as a member of the medical staff in June 1991. In September 2001, he was selected as the medical director of the Emergency Department and chief of emergency services.
Then, in May 2008, he was appointed as WMMC’s first vice president of Medical Staff Services and chief medical officer.
