Lady Tigers swimmers take second in Raytown

The Lady Tigers swim team took second place Wednesday against three teams at its first meet of the season in Raytown.
Kearney took first place with 213 points. The Lady Tigers took second with 193 points, beating Raytown and Raytown South.
“It was a fabulous first meet, could not have asked for better results,” said coach Jane Zembraski. “All the girls swam like they wanted to win, (with) many personal best times.”
The top swimmers were Kathryn Ambrose, first in the 50 freestyle, followed by fourth- and fifth-place finishes by Amanda Taylor and Lauren Landwher.
Bethany Marnholtz took second in the 200 IM and 100 breast; Kaylee VanBlarcum, third in the 200 freestyle; Heather Albers, first in the 500 free and second in the 100 butterfly; Ashley Hobbs, second in the 100 back; and the 400 free relay team, first, with swimmers Heather Albers, Kathyrn Ambrose, Amanda Taylor and Monique Corona.
