Mules wrestler Allan Person and Jennies golfer Elizabeth Leath were recently named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic 2017-2018 All-District Teams for the At-Large Division.
Person is a junior engineering technology major with a 3.96 GPA. He wrestled at 174 pounds, compiled a 16-10 record this season and went 3-2 at the NCAA Super Regional, placing fifth.
Leath is a junior accountancy major with a 4.0 GPA. This season she averaged 78.33 per round in 11 tournaments and had three second-place finishes, including a 2-under-par at the MIAA Fall Preview. She tied for 10th place at the MIAA Championships, and then tied for 14th at the regional tournament.
For UCM, athletes competing in men’s and women’s golf, wrestling and bowling are eligible for the At-Large team. To be eligible for the Academic All-District team, student athletes must have a 3.30 GPA and have been enrolled for at least two semesters.
Person and Leath are eligible for the CoSIDAA Academic All-America At-Large Team, which will be announced at a later date.
