WMMC Sleep Center receives accreditation

The WMMC Sleep Center has received accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
In May 2017, WMMC acquired an expedited accreditation through an application process due to Medicare guideline changes. This accreditation was valid until the site survey occurred during March 2018.
Following this site survey, the AASM determined that WMMC reflects a commitment to ensuring that patients with sleep disorders receive the highest quality of care and chose to accredit the Sleep Center through May 12, 2022, according to a press release.
Sleep disorders and the interruption they have on the human body’s ability to obtain rest can have a negative impact on a person’s long-term health, according to the release.
Beyond feelings of fatigue throughout the day, people with sleep disorders can be irritable and unfocused as well as more serious consequences including hypertension which leads to an increased risk of stroke and heart failure.
WMMC Sleep Center offers sleep studies day, night and on weekends to assist patient’s and their primary care provider to diagnosis or confirm a sleep disorder, according to the release.
Our board-certified medical director, Scott Eveloff, MD, has 23 years of experience in sleep medicine. He said the accreditation get him and his staff helping people get back to a good night’s sleep.
