Slay still hopeful on China hub

(ST. LOUIS, AP) — St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay plans to appeal to Missouri lawmakers in the upcoming session for the state’s help in making the city a trade hub with China.
For years, plans have been discussed to develop Lambert Airport as key arrival and departure point for buying and selling goods with China. Slay told KMOX Radio (http://cbsloc.al/T0s8Re ) that city officials and state legislators need to work together to get something done on the hub.
Slay says he will also seek legislative help on other St. Louis priorities, including education, crime reduction and infrastructure resources.
