For starters, wear jerseys. This doesn’t have to be a regular jersey shirt with your favorite player’s number on it – it can be all types of clothing.
If it’s warmer out, you can wear jersey dresses and boots. If it’s a bit chilly, a jersey jacket over a nice sweater can keep you fashionable and warm at the same time.
If you really want to get creative in what you wear to the game, try a DIY. This will guarantee to stand out in a crowd and show how much you support your school.
Decorate a shirt with pump-up phrases for the players, or cover the back of a jacket with stick-on letters that spell out “Go Team!” This is a time to think out of the box, and go crazy with your clothing.
Don’t feel limited to shirts and pants either. Dresses and skirts may be a bit tricky to wear as you’re cheering on your team, but they’re still options. A black skirt and UCM shirt would look awesome in the stands as you chanted with the cheerleaders to get our team pumped.
If you don’t have time to look for jerseys or make something special to wear, you can always grab regular clothes in school colors and over-accessorize to compensate.
Wearing black jeans and a red shirt are nice, but adding black bracelets and a big red statement necklace let’s you be stylish and spirited at the same time. You can also try rings, earrings, scarves and hats, or anything to add a little bit extra to your outfit.
Lastly, you can make your face an accessory with face paint. Paint your whole face in red and black, or swipe a couple of lines across your cheeks.
It’s easy to get lost in all the red and black outfits during this time of year, but by trying a couple of these tips, you’re sure to stand out amongst the crowd.
