Man accused of striking patrol cars in Missouri chase

(MONTGOMERY CITY, Mo., AP) — An O’Fallon man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase and crashing into two patrol cars has been charged.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1MfLTv8 ) reports that 23-year-old Calyb Musgrave was charged Monday with several counts, including two counts of assault on an officer. Sgt. Al Nothum says Musgrave fled from Missouri State Highway Patrol officers who tried to pull him over for multiple traffic violations in Callaway County on Sunday.
According to authorities, Musgrave led the chase on Interstate 70 and struck two patrol cars before spike strips were set up and damaged three of his tires. Police say he continued to drive for another couple of miles before a tire came off and his vehicle rolled over in Montgomery County.
Musgrave was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.
