(MARSHFIELD, Mo., AP) — Two Missouri firefighters who died in the line of duty were among 107 firefighters honored in a national ceremony.
Lt. Matthew Blankenship of Marshfield and Fort Osage assistant Fire Chief Harold Hollingsworth were honored Sunday when their names were added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Blankenship died about a week after being injured when he was trapped in a house fire on July 13, 2013, in Niangua. He was 38.
Hollingsworth, 47, of Lexington died in April 2013 in a car accident while driving to a house fire in Sibley.
