Eight suspects held in connection to robberies

Warrensburg Police took eight suspects into custody in connection to two armed robberies early Wednesday morning.
Chief Bruce Howey said two armed robberies occurred shortly after midnight, according to a police report. One robbery was reported near College Avenue and North Street, and the other robbery was reported on North Holden Street near Cooper Boulevard. Both robbery victims sustained injuries, according to police reports. Three 18-year-old men and one 19-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery and assault charges.
As of 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, four more suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree robbery and assault charges. The suspects were being held in Johnson County Jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigations into both robberies are being conducted jointly by Warrensburg Police and UCM Public Safety.
