Premier Turbines closing Neosho plant next year

(NEOSHO, Mo., AP) — The Premier Turbines plant in Neosho will close early next year, eliminating 80 jobs in the area.

Dallas Airmotive, which owns Premier Turbines, said Thursday the work done in Neosho will be moved to Dallas.
Pratt says the turbine repair shop in Neosho will close sometime between early January and the end of March.
The Joplin Globe reports (http://bit.ly/1iBihjO) Pratt says the decision results from several developments, including a new contract that requires the work to be done in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Pratt says groundbreaking for a new Dallas-Fort Worth plant is likely this summer.
The Neosho employees have worked on the Rolls-Royce M250 engine, which is used in both civilian and military helicopters.
Pratt says the company is negotiating with the employees’ union to determine severance or transfers.
