(FARMINGTON, Mo., AP) — A Missouri man is facing charges after allegedly speeding away from police at 130 mph.
The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Mo. (http://bit.ly/1luqpzy) reports that 19-year-old Jerico Pikal of Blackwell is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He is jailed on $250,000 bond.
Farmington police responded to a domestic disturbance call Saturday. Officers saw a Ford Mustang leaving the scene and a chase began.
Police say the Mustang, allegedly driven by Pikal, reached speeds of around 130 mph, ran red lights and caused a wreck with a police car. A spike strip eventually flattened the Mustang’s front tires.
Police say Pikal resisted arrest when an officer tried to handcuff him. He allegedly smelled of alcohol but refused a field sobriety test.
