Blue Springs wins Mo. Class 6 state championship

(ST. LOUIS, AP) — Ian Brown threw a pair of touchdown passes to Kaleb Prewett, helping Blue Springs repeat as Missouri Class 6 state champion with a 35-14 victory Friday over Columbia Rock Bridge.
Cobi Bissell also ran for two scores for the Wildcats (14-0), who won their fifth state title overall.
Brown finished with 165 yards on 11-of-18 passing, including the second-quarter scoring throws to Prewett covering 17 and 8 yards as Blue Springs rolled to a 21-0 lead.
Darrius Shepherd returned a punt 49 yards for the Blue Springs’ opening score.
Rock Bridge (8-6) reached the title contest despite losing its final four regular-season games.
Logan Twehous threw for 100 yards and a touchdown for Rock Bridge, which finished with just 87 yards of total offense.
