WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Doyle Oxley, current battalion chief for the city, will begin his new duties as assistant fire chief\fire marshal on Sept. 3, according to a press release.
A graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a B.A. in biology and a minor in chemistry, Oxley has been with the Warrensburg Fire Department for 19 years. Since joining the fire department, he has worked up the ranks and served as Battalion Chief for the past seven years. He is also a member of Missouri Task Force I.
“Doyle’s depth of experience, education, leadership and commitment to the community made him the clear choice for the position. These are just some of the criteria we required in our choice for assistant fire chief,” said Fire Chief Jim Kushner.
“There were several qualified applicants from within the fire department who submitted applications. It was difficult narrowing it down, but Doyle demonstrated all of the necessary criteria along with a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience in virtually every aspect of the fire service,” said Human Resources Manager Shannon Ramey.
Oxley is married with two children and enjoys working on his farm.
