State Fair acts include 'The Voice' contestant

(SEDALIA, Mo.) – The Budweiser Tent at the Missouri State Fair will feature a mix of free musical entertainment, kicking off opening day with Curtis Grimes from season one of the NBC television show, “The Voice,” according to a news release.
Curtis Grimes, new this year to the Budweiser Stage, is a young singer making some noise in the country music industry. He has shared the stage with music greats Kenny Chesney, Eli Young and Jamey Johnson. Grimes will perform at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 8-9.
The Nace Brothers band will be the 9 p.m. dance band on opening day, with their nightly appearance continuing through Aug. 11. Fairgoers can also enjoy listening to the talented hopefuls singing in the Idol competition at 4 p.m. daily, and during the final round at 2 p.m. Aug. 18.
Other Budweiser Stage shows scheduled at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. include Native Run Aug. 10-11, Shelly Bush and The Broadband Aug. 12, Rachel Farley Aug. 13-14, the Justin Heskett Band Aug. 15 and The Railers Aug. 16-17.
Charissa Mrowka and Country Cross will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 12-14. Appearing at the 9 p.m. slot the final weekend of the State Fair will be Madd Hoss Jackson Aug. 15-16 and the Full Moon Band Aug. 17.
Fairgoers can also take advantage of several gate admission discounts available during the Fair, which include several sponsor coupons and $5 gate admission Aug. 11-14, starting at 5 p.m. Regular gate admission price is $8 for adults, $6 for age 60 and over, $2 for ages 6-12 and free admission for ages 5 and under.
