(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – Mules infielder Kyle Grieshaber has signed a free agent contract with the St. Louis Cardinals following his playing career at the University of Central Missouri.
Grieshaber went undrafted in this year’s MLB First-Year Player Draft, but signed as an undrafted free agent following the draft.
Grieshaber was a second team All-MIAA player and second team All-Region pick as a utilityman this year for the Mules after hitting .354 with 18 doubles, a team-best nine home runs and 56 RBI. He played centerfield, second base and third base for Central Missouri and looks to play as an infielder in the professional ranks.
The Chesterfield, Mo., native will begin his professional career on Thursday, June 20 for the Johnson City Cardinals, St. Louis’ Rookie League affiliate, in the Appalachian League.
