Mules remain No. 1 in NCAA Central Region Poll

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The Central Missouri Mules baseball team continues to hold down the No. 1 ranking in the latest NCAA Division II Central Region rankings released Wednesday.
The Mules (34-9) are one of two MIAA teams ranked in the top eight, Missouri Western is ranked No. 3 in the poll. Minnesota State is ranked second followed by the Griffons with Southern Arkansas and Southwestern Oklahoma State rounding out the top five. The top six teams in the final regional rankings will qualify for the NCAA-II Central Region Tournament May 16-19 at a campus site to be determined.
The Central Region is made up of teams from the MIAA, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and Great American Conference.
The Mules are set to open MIAA Tournament play this Friday at 3 p.m. hosting Pittsburg State in the first game of a best-of-three first round series. The winners of the four first round matchups will advance to the MIAA Tournament Final Four next weekend at Community America Ballpark in Kansas City, Kan.
