(LILBURN, Ga.) – After finishing one of the most successful seasons in recent history, the Central Missouri Jennies finish the 2012-13 season ranked No. 16 in the final WBCA USA TODAY Sports Division II Coaches Poll.
The Jens slid three spots from their March 12 ranking, the final poll before the start of the NCAA Tournament.
Their place in the final poll marks the first time the Jennies end a season in the top 25 since the 2004-05 campaign, when head coach Dave Slifer led the team to a 23-8 record and a spot in the NCAA Tournament during his first season in Warrensburg.
The Jennies are the second-highest ranked team from the MIAA in the poll, just two spots behind Washburn, who finish the season ranked No. 14. Behind the Jennies, the Emporia State Hornets finish No. 18.
Central Missouri finished the season with a 24-6 record, a second place finish in the MIAA regular season standings, and an undefeated home schedule, going 14-0 inside the Multipurpose Building for just the fourth time in program history.
