Votes are tallied for municipal election

(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalburg) – Results are in for Tuesday’s Municipal General Election, and the unofficial results show that City Council incumbent Charlie Rutt received 24.52 percent of the vote to retain his seat with 500.
Donna DeFrain joins Rutt on the City Council. DeFrain received 475 votes, accounting for 23.3 percent. Cason Renfrow narrowly missed a seat by eight votes with 467. Eddie Osborne earned 357 votes and was trailed by Michael Watts’ 240 votes.
The seat for Western Missouri Medical Trustee went to Tim Murdock. Murdock defeated Greg Hassler with 1,902 votes, or 55.47 percent of the vote. Hassler received 44.15 percent, or 1,514 votes.
Morris L. Collins and Rick Miller were both elected to the Warrensburg R-VI School Board. Collins led with 44.67 percent, or 1,149 votes. Rick Miller snagged the other spot with 845 votes, totaling 32.85 percent.
Though strongly supported, Kathryn McCormick was nudged with 573 votes, or 22.28 percent.
In the race for Water Supply District No. 1, Roy Lee White edged out Ray Markley by 26 votes. White claimed 52.93 percent of the vote, a total of 226, while Markley earned 200.
