(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Junior forward Keuna Flax was honored as the MIAA Student-Athlete of the Week in women’s basketball, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Flax averaged 25 points per game last week, leading the 10th-ranked Central Missouri Jennies to road victories over Central Oklahoma and Missouri Southern.
The Haltom City, Texas native scored a career-high 30 points in the win over the Bronchos, going 6-for-9 from the field including a pair of three-pointers. Two days later at Missouri Southern, Flax put up 20 points in just 22 minutes on the court, while working around some foul trouble. Overall, she earned 50 points in just 56 minutes played on the week.
Flax missed only five field goal attempts over both games, shooting 77.3% and going 17-of-22. She also shot 80% from beyond the arc (4-of-5), and from the free throw line (12-of-15).
The Jennies return home this week, as they host the Lindenwood Lions on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1:30 p.m.
