Coffee with the Sheriff begins Jan. 30

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is starting new program later this month called Coffee with the Sheriff.
The program will give citizens of the county the opportunity to have an informal conversation with Sheriff Chuck Heiss.
“We are hoping that this monthly program will result in the exchange of ideas and comments about any concerns residents may have about anything from crime in their specific area, operations of the Sheriff’s Office, and even just a chance to sit down and get questions answered in a friendly, informal setting,” said Ken Dillon, public information officer at the Sheriff’s Office. “It’s another way we want to reach out and keep the residents of Johnson County in touch with us, and vice-versa.”
The first meeting is scheduled for 7a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 at Mary Jane’s Cafe, 1042 S. Maguire St., in southern Warrensburg.
The plan is to make the program a regular monthly event, which may later include other members of the Sheriff’s Office to address special concerns or answer questions about their place in the Sheriff’s Office team.
