10 Commandments monument finds home

(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., AP) — A huge monument of the Ten Commandments has found a new home, years after the death of the southwest Missouri artist who created the piece.
The Springfield News-Leader reports (http://sgfnow.co/VS3e4O) the stone sculpture is more than 15 feet tall and weighs more than 11 tons. Members of the Sac River Cowboy Church bought the monument in 2011 for about $2,000 and have now installed it on church-owned property west of Springfield.
The monument was constructed by Jim Luce on his Aurora property. Luce was still working on the piece when he was killed in a farm accident in 2007.
His widow, Valerie Luce, says she’s had several offers for the monument, but felt that the Cowboy Church was a good fit.
