The Jennies volleyball team, once again, came off with a win. They got their 15th win of the season on Thursday, Oct. 14 against the Central Oklahoma Bronchos.

The Jennies won the first set 25-20 and had 20 kills. They also won the second set by a score of 25-16 and also had 14 kills. The third set was a lot closer, but they held on for a 25-22 set win. They had 20 kills in the third set. The Jennies had 133 total attacks, 10 errors, and 54 kills.

“It wasn’t the prettiest game, but we got the win,” Head Coach Flip Piontek said. “That puts us at 14-3. These girls are willing to compete.”

Piontek also said that he needs to see more intensity when the girls are playing.

The Jennies were successful blocking on Thursday as they had seven blocks on the night.

Sophomore Kersti Nix said the Jennies were really good at blocking. She also said, “we need to bring more energy”. She had three blocks and 13 kills during the evening.

Senior outside hitter Aubree Bell was also excited about the win. She said they played well as a team.

“Serving and passing were definitely better,” Bell said. “We also did a good job at hitting open spots and covering hitters.”

The Jennies play at home against Emporia State on Oct. 23.
