Jennies Continue Winning Streak at Home

 The University of Central Missouri Jennies defeated Missouri Western State University Griffons 66-45 on Jan. 28. The Jennies are 11-2 for the season while the Griffons are 2-8. The Jennies did not allow more than 11 points in the first half. They stopped the Griffons defense from scoring. The Griffons started to come back after halftime and scored 15 points in the third quarter, which was more than the halftime score.  The Jennies did not allow any opponents under 60 points for the seventh time this season. 

  Senior guard Nija Collier led the team with 21 points, nine rebounds, six steals and two blocks. Freshman guard Charley Bovaird had three assists. The Jennies made 21/60  baskets, 7/31 three-pointers and 17/23 free throws. The Jennies did not let the Griffons score more than four in a quarter.

  The Griffons struggled on offense and defense. Freshman guard Jordan Cunningham led the team with nine points. Junior guard Asia McCoy also had nine points, blocked once and had nine rebounds. Senior guard Simone Rodney had three assists. Overall, the Griffons made 17/59 shots, 4/19 on three-pointers and with 7/8 free throws.
