Stones named honorable mention Daktronics All-America

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) — Jennies soccer senior defender Jenna Stones was named Daktronics honorable mention All-America Thursday afternoon after helping the Jens to a 16-2-5 record, their fifth MIAA regular season title and an appearance in the NCAA II Round of 16 for the second time in program history.
Stones, a health studies major from Olathe, Kan., helped the Jennies backline become one of the top defenses in all of NCAA Division II and the best in the MIAA in 2012. The Jens defense ranked first in the conference in goals-against-average with a stellar 0.52 average, goals-allowed, only giving up 13 goals the entire season and shutouts, posting an impressive 13 clean sheets this season.
Nationally, the Jennies backline ranked seventh out of 300 Division II women’s soccer teams in goals-against-average (0.52) and were 17th out of 300 in shutout percentage (0.57).
Stones also had an impact on the offensive side of the ball, contributing four assists while starting all 23 matches for the Jens.
The Olathe native was the only unanimous first-team All-MIAA selection this season and also a Daktronics All-Region first-team honoree.
