Mules past, present show well at Missouri Stroke Play Championship

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) — Central Missouri golfers past and present were all over the top of the leaderboard at the 2015 Missouri Stroke Play Championship played at St. Joseph Country Club.
Former Mule Joe Migdal won the championship with four current or former UCM golfers finishing in the top 10.
Migdal shot rounds of 66, 67, 73 and 68 to finish at 10-under par 274 and post a three-shot win over Travis Mays, who shot seven-under par after rounds of 67, 71, 70, and 69. Migdal entered the 72nd hole with a two-shot lead. He very nearly sunk his approach on the par five for an albatross. He tapped in for eagle and the championship.

Sam Migdal, who earlier this year captured the first individual national championship in Mules golf history, finished at even par and was in fourth place.Cy Moritz finished the tournament at eight-over par and in a tie for ninth. Freshman Travis Simmons finished in 13th place with a 10-over par 294.
Incoming freshman Ian Barnes (+21) and Carter Tumminia (+8) finished in ties for 30th and 35th, respectively. Taylor Woods finished at plus-26 and tied for 39th place.
Robby Hughey and Gibson Larkin both competed in the tournament, but failed to make the cut.
