Mules basketball ranks fourth in the nation in attendance in 2014-15

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The Mules basketball team ranked fourth in NCAA Division II basketball attendance in 2014-15 after ranking sixth last year and fourth two seasons ago.
This is the third straight year and the ninth time in the last 11 seasons the Mules ranked in the top 10 in attendance nationally, according to a news release.
The Mules were second in the MIAA in attendance, averaging 2,656 fans per game over 16 home contests. The Mules totaled 42,347 total fans over the course of the 2014-15 season. Northern State led Division II in attendance for the eighth consecutive year with 3,402 fans per game. Augustana in South Dakota was second with 2,697 fans per game and Fort Hays State was third with 2,656 fans per game.
Nebraska-Kearney was ninth with Missouri Southern, Washburn and Emporia State ranking 13th, 14th and 15th, respectively. The MIAA led the nation as a conference with an average attendance of 1,514 fans per game. 293,630 fans turned out to watch MIAA basketball home games last season.
The Mules went 14-2 at the Multi last season and have gone 40-2 at home over the past three seasons. All-time, the Mules are 479-90 in games played at the Multipurpose Building.
