Mules Golf finishes fifth at tough Barry Invitational

(MIAMI BEACH, Fla.) — In a tournament that included six of the top 20 teams in the country, the 19th-ranked Mules golf team shot a final round 289 to finish at 25-over par for the tournament and in fifth place at the Barry Buccaneer Invitational at Normandy Shores Golf Club.
The Mules finished in fifth place behind fifth-ranked Lynn (-6), who captured the team title, top-ranked Nova Southeastern (+7), Eastern Florida State (+15), and fourth-ranked Barry (+16). Kerry Sweeney of Eastern Florida State captured individual medalist honors with a nine-under par, 204, the second-lowest score in tournament history.
Travis Mays led the Mules in a tie for seventh place at one-over par, 214. He shot rounds of 74, 70, and 70 on the par 71 course. Alex Springer finished at eight-over par and in a tie for 23rd, while Cy Moritz was one stroke back in a tie for 27th. Sam Migdal finished with a 225, 12-over par, and was tied for 40th, while Teddy Jones shot a 226 and was tied for 45th.
The Mules are back in action next Monday at Tuesday, April 6 and 7 at the Dallas Baptist Classic at Hackberry Country Club in Las Colinas, Texas.
