Mules golf finish in third at Pittsburg State Invitational

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Central Missouri Mules golf squad finished in third place after shooting a final round 302 at the Pittsburg State Invitational at Crestwood Country Club Tuesday.
UCM finished 10 shots back of tournament champion Washburn and four shots behind MIAA newcomer Central Oklahoma in the first MIAA sanctioned event of the season.
Travis Mays tied for eighth place along with teammate Mason Good, who was playing as an individual. The duo both finished at five-over par with scores of 149. Cy Moritz tied for 15th at 7 over (151). Robby Hughey tied for 24th (8 over, 152), while Mike Ehlers and Jason Vann tied for 28th at nine-over par, 153.
Sam Schulte of Washburn finished at even par and beat Dillon Rust of Central Oklahoma in a playoff to claim individual medalist honors.
The Mules are back in action Sept. 17 and 18 at the Brickyard Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind.
