Blood drive set for Friday

Written by Muleskinner Staff

The Warrensburg Police and Fire Department’s September blood drive is scheduled for 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 in conjunction with the Community Blood Center at the Warrensburg Community Center.
This monthly blood drive is dedicated to the fallen first responders and others who lost their lives during the 9-11 attacks.
Free pizza will be available after 11 a.m. for the donors. The donors will also receive a Community Star Award T-shirt. An organization has to collect more than 400 units of blood in a year to be eligible for the Community Star Award. Only 11 organizations in the area served by the Community Blood Center received the Community Star Award last year, and UCM and the City of Warrensburg were two of those organizations, according to a news release.
