(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – The 12^th annual Celebrating Central Missouri Athletics Auction will be Friday, Aug. 17, from 5:30-10 p.m. in the UCM Multipurpose Building.
In addition, an auction preview and pre-registration is slated for Thursday, Aug. 16 from 6-8 p.m. in the Multi for all who plan to attend the auction. Beverages and hors d’oureves will be served at the preview. The preview is a chance for auction attendees to browse for auction bargains and to pre-register for the event, which will save them from standing in line Friday night.
This year’s auction features over 600 items, such as a golfing trip to the ultra-exclusive Floridian National Golf Club in Palm Beach, Fla.; a chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at an upcoming Kansas City Royals game; condo stays in Branson; Lake of the Ozarks; Bonita Springs, Fla.; Goodyear, Ariz.; San Antonio, Texas; Aruba and more; a 50-yard line suite in St. Louis to watch the Rams host the Chiefs in exhibition play and the 49ers in the regular season; Mizzou football and basketball suites; Big XII Basketball Tournament tickets, Coach for a Day opportunities; Las Vegas vacation for two; Cardinals, Royals and Mizzou tickets; golf packages; UCM gear; household items; autographed items and more.

This year’s event will also include a “Buy it Now” silent auction section with vacation destinations to bid on, including: shopping getaways to New York City and Chicago, a Napa Valley Wine Country Experience, a trip to Key West, Fla., a Pebble Beach golf vacation and more.
The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 17. Attendees will be able to enjoy a meal prepared by Chef Ann Picaud and the staff of Sodexo Campus Services. Participants can enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages and bid on silent auction items from 5:30-7:45 p.m.  The hors d’oeuvres will consist of jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce and assorted canapés.
A buffet dinner will be served from 6:30-8 p.m. featuring Greek spinach salad, carved Traeger smoked prime rib, citrus marinated grilled chicken breast with tropical fruit salsa, truffled mashed potatoes, honeyed baby carrots, sautéed squash, grape tomatoes and fresh basil. Dessert will feature a gourmet cupcake display and assorted mini pies and tarts, as well as Dilly Bars from DQ Grill and Chill.
From 8-10 p.m., the live auction of 43 items will take place. UCM Athletic Hall-of-Famers“The Nigro Brothers” will provide the auctioneering. Tickets are $50 each. Tickets are available in the Multipurpose Building, Room 101 or by calling 660-543-8339.
