Mules roll over MacMurray 88-58

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The Central Missouri Mules scored the first eight points of the game and never looked back in rolling to an 88-58 win over MacMurray on Sunday afternoon at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
The Mules are now 8-1 on the season.

The Highlanders (5-2) responded to UCM’s 8-0 run to start the game with a 9-4 run of their own to pull within 12-9 at the 16:26 mark. The Mules went right back to work, using a 16-4 run to open up a 15-point lead midway through the first half.Central Missouri pushed the lead to as many as 23 in the first half with Jon Gilliam‘s three right before halftime giving UCM a 51-28 lead at the intermission.
A 21-14 spurt to open the second half gave the Mules their largest lead of the game at 72-42 with 10:46 to play in the game. The lead never dipped below 23 the rest of the way as the Mules cruised to the 30-point win.
The Mules shot 52 percent for the game, 30 of 57 and made 8 of 17 three-point attempts for 47 percent. UCM was 20 of 27 at the foul line for 74 percent.
Kyle Wolf led Central Missouri with a game-high 19 points, tying his career-high. He was 8 of 10 from the field and also pulled down a game-high seven rebounds. Gilliam had 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting, while Dillon Deck added 11 points and Ryan Magdziarz had 10.
The Mules had 17 assists and forced 15 MacMurray turnovers.
The Highlanders were led by Spencer Pratt’s 15 points. Dylan Burton added 11 as MC shot 39 percent from the floor, 25 of 64. They were 5 of 16 from beyond the arc for 31 percent and 3 of 6 at the charity stripe.
The Mules are back in action on Dec. 16 when they host Culver-Stockton at 7 p.m. at the Multi. The game can be heard live on 1450 KOKO, 98.5 The Bar and warrensburgradio.com.
