Jennies draw with Beavers, 0-0

(MINOT, N.D.) – The seventh ranked Jennies soccer team (3-0-1) and Minot State failed to find the back of the net, settling for a 0-0 draw in two extra time periods at Herb Parker Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Jennies fired 12 shots-on-goal but each time those were right into the hands of Minot State goalie Marie Torres, who had a game-high 12 saves in all 110 minutes of action. Jennies goalkeeper Jessica Grindstaff posted three saves and played all 110-minutes in-goal. It’s the second straight shutout for the Jennies’ defense.
The draw is the first for Jennies’ soccer since a 0-0 tie against Northwest Missouri State on Oct. 1, 2009.
The Jennies return to the pitch Friday, Sept. 14 when they travel to Hays, Kan. to open the 2012 MIAA schedule against Fort Hays State University. First-kick is set for 6 p.m. at FHSU Soccer Stadium.
