(SEDALIA, Mo.) — The Lady Tigers refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Smith Cotton Tuesday night, recording a 13-3 victory, according to a press release. Warrensburg (15-7, 7-1) shares the honor with Clinton.
Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Lady Tigers to put the game away early.
An RBI single by Hunter Atkins and an RBI double by Maddie Rhone in the first inning and an RBI double by Mac Cunconan and an RBI single by Mataya Lowry during the second inning helped the Lady Tigers put some runs on the board early.
Rhone racked up four RBIs on three hits, including a three-run home run in the fifth, for the Lady Tigers.
Brittany Marr got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings. She struck out five, walked none and surrendered eight hits.
“We accomplished a goal tonight,” Coach Dylan Hultman said. “We want to win conference every year. Districts start tomorrow so we will enjoy this tonight and then go to work on our next goal tomorrow.”
