On Sept. 28, the University of Central Missouri’s Alumni Foundation hosted UCM’s Family Weekend.
The Family Weekend Breakfast is a UCM tradition that showcases UCM life to families of the students. The event is free and requires pre-registration. It features Chris Cakes, the Guinness World Record holder for pancake-flipping. The breakfast is one of several campus events occurring on Family Weekend.
“This is the fourth year we’re hosting the family weekend breakfast in partnership with student activities and admissions. It’s great because color run participants, additional pre-registered families, and prospective students and their families will be joining us, making it a perfect opportunity to showcase UCM,” Tiffany Cochran, Senior Director of Events and Alumni Engagement, said.
The event typically draws a large turnout.
“We expect around 500 people, like previous years. To accommodate everyone, we’ve brought in Chris Cakes, the fastest pancake flippers in the world,” Jackie Jackson, the Associate Vice President of University Advancement, said.
The breakfast serves as a place to bring together people from different facets of students’ lives.
“My favorite part about the breakfast was getting to combine both my family, current UCM friends, and my friends back at home,” Gabrielle Kittinger, a senior of UCM from St. Louis and Family Weekend attendee, said.
