Every year, the basketball coaches from the MIAA do a preseason poll of the conference teams. This year, it was held virtually due to the pandemic. 

  The Jennies stand in third place with 143 points. Last year, they had a 27-4 record and won the MIAA regular season and tournament championships. The conference’s top two were Emporia State and Nebraska-Kearney. Notable returnees include Nija Collier, Gigi McAtee and Morgan VanHyfte. The Jennies signed seven new freshmen to the team. 

  The Mules placed 11th with 60 points. Northwest Missouri State finished first with 169 points. Last season, their record was 10-18, and they hope to improve this season. Key returnees for the Mules include Gaven Pinkley, Koray Gilbert and Garrett Luinstra. The Mules received many transfers and added two freshmen to the roster.
