Alumni Spotlight: Brittanie Boyd
Brittanie Boyd is a University of Central Missouri alumna who graduated in 2009. She participated in Track and Field under head coach Kip Janvrin. When he heard that she got the new job, he was excited and happy for her.
“She is a go getter, energetic and has lots of enthusiasm. She was a huge part of our team’s success when she attended here. She was an excellent student-athlete who continues to succeed in everything she does,” Janvrin said.
She chose UCM because of a full ride athletic scholarship, and her dad lived in Kansas. When she started, she was in the nursing program because her dad and grandmother wanted her to go into the medical field. All of that changed during her sophomore year when she was selected as a national representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee for the MIAA conference. Boyd traveled to NCAA headquarters three times a year for business meetings, and she fell in love with marketing. Boyd was recently selected as Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team. She is responsible for their branding, marketing and business development. She also oversees the direction of the team’s game presentation, social media, digital and video content and business development.
Boyd said, “I am super excited for this new role as the senior vice president of marketing. The 76ers brand is one of the most iconic brands in our country and in all of sports. This is a huge opportunity for me. The team that I am going to work and the leadership that is in place for me is amazing.”
