The UCM Jennies (21-4, 15-1 in MIAA) defeated the Lincoln Blue Tigers 74-45 on Tuesday night at the UCM Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg. This marked the Jennies final home game of the season making their final home record a perfect 13-0.
The Jennies were able to overwhelm the Blue Tigers throughout the entire game. At the end of the first quarter, the Jennies lead 18-9. Midway through the second quarter, the Jennies went on a 15-2 scoring run to push them out to a 33-13 lead. UCM’s Morgan Fleming helped provide the spark on offense by knocking down a three pointer towards the end of the half. Jennies took a 43-18 lead into halftime.
The Blue Tigers were unable to answer to the Jennies offense as UCM continued to score. UCM’s Megan Skaggs and Fleming were able to knock down three pointers to help push the Jennies out to 62-34 lead. The Jennies were able to use their entire bench in the fourth quarter as UCM’s Sydnee Schovanec and Madison Cook knocked down a pair of three pointers to put Lincoln away. The final score was a 74-45 Jennies victory.
Skaggs led the UCM offense with 18 points and added nine rebounds and five steals. Fleming added 17 points and four assists. Nija Collier scored nine points and pulled down 14 rebounds. Kim Crown scored eight points off the bench while Ryann Stearns added seven. Morgan VanHyfte tallied four points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals.
