The University of Central Missouri will be sponsoring its fifth annual Trading Moon Pow Wow from noon until 9:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in the lower section of the UCM Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The Pow Wow is a gathering of several groups who will perform traditional Native American dances.
According to the Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity, the Pow Wow is an intertribal gathering, open to all, whether they are of Native American heritage or not.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience Native American music and dancers in tribal regalia will participate in traditional dance. Vendors will also be on hand to sell Native American arts, crafts and food.
The Pow Wow is sponsored by The National Endowment for the Arts, the Missouri Arts Council, the American Democracy Project, Sodexo, Pepsi and the University of Central Missouri.
