A UCM graduate student died and two other people were injured in a head-on collision Monday morning.
Kathleen Miller, 62, of Windsor, died in the crash. She was pursuing a Master of Arts in history and was also an instructor at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri, according to a news release.
The crash occurred at 8:25 a.m. along state Route 52 at County Road Northeast 251 in Henry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Maria E. Ramirez-Gudino, 31, of Clinton, Missouri, was eastbound when she lost control on the snow-covered roadway, crossed the center of the road and struck Miller’s vehicle nearly head-on. After the impact, Ramirez-Gudino’s vehicle traveled off the south side of the road. Miller’s vehicle went off the north side of the road, according to the trooper reports.
Miller was pronounced dead at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, according to the report.
Ramirez-Gudino suffered serious injuries and her occupant in the vehicle, 5-year-old Jonathan A. Mendoza-Ramirez, suffered moderate injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital.
