Mules golf competed in the Missouri Western Classic Monday at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri. The second day of the tournament was cancelled due to weather, making the Mules seventh place finish on day one the final result.
Senior John Bonaobra tied for ninth place and shot an even 71 in round one. After opening at 4-over-par in his first seven holes, Bonaobra made four birdies in the last 11 holes to get back even.
Freshman Matt Hoemann was the Mules next best finisher in 25th place shooting 2-over-par on the day. Junior Cole Dillon was one stroke behind Hoemann in 34th place.
Washburn claimed the team title finishing even at 284. Missouri Western’s Lucas Horseman was the top individual performer shooting 4-under-par Monday.
The Mules last tournament of the fall is the Lincoln Classic Monday and Tuesday at Jefferson City Country Club in Jefferson City, Missouri.
