Central Missouri’s cross country teams competed at the Emporia State Invitational Saturday at Jones Park in Emporia, Kansas. The Mules finished in ninth out of 13 teams and the Jennies took seventh out of 11 teams.
Sophomore Mariah Elmore was the top finisher for the Jennies with a 19th place finish in 20:11.3. Senior Amy Marx took 33rd with a time of 20:34.1 and freshman Sami Skibell was right behind her in 34th at 20:45.5.
The Mules top-four finishers crossed the line together within .2 seconds of each other in places 40-43. Jared Mentz finished first in the group at 28:26.9 followed by Ryan Skopec, Isaac Calvert and Alex Phillips.
Central Missouri’s final race of the regular season will be at home for the Mule Run. Races are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Oct. 20 at Mules National Golf Course.
