The annual Doggie Dive at the Nassif Aquatic Center is set for Aug. 16.
The event, sponsored by Re/Max United and the Warrensburg Parks and Recreation Department, runs from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Nassif Aquatic Center, located next to the Warrensburg Community Center along Gay Street.
Those who bring their dogs must provide proof of current vaccinations before dogs are allowed access to the pool.
The event takes place the day after the pool closes.
“The community talks about it on social media and how excited they are,” said Grace Joseph, recreation supervisor for programs and special events. “I’ll always hear how they can’t wait for next year’s Doggie Dive.”
Having hosted and participated for the last three years, Joseph said the event fosters a positive atmosphere and provides a chance for people to meet each other.
“A lot of the people are animal lovers, so it’s just a nice time for people to come out and make new friends and a chance to get to know the community better,” Joseph said.
