Construction is underway for the Downtown Revitalization Project Phase IV and is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 1, according to a press release.
Traffic will be detoured around the project and Holden Street will be closed from Grover Street to South Street during portions of the construction.
The project costs $772,220, which includes construction, right-of-way acquisition and utility relocation and engineering, according to the release. The city of Warrensburg’s contribution is $349,482 and the remaining cost of $422,738 is funded through the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Surface Transportation Program.
This phase of the project will connect the area more with UCM and will have modern infrastructure to improve the aesthetics of the downtown business district, according to the release.
The project will involve the installation of new underground utilities and street improvements. They are planned to be constructed on South Holden Street from Grover Street to South Street, with complete asphalt replacement from Railroad Street to South Street, according to the release.
