Friends and family of the Warrensburg area will get a chance to dress in their best cosplay gear for a good cause.
The University of Central Missouri is hosting a Cosplay for Hope Walk on Saturday, Aug. 25, to bring awareness to suicide prevention. Cosplay for Hope focuses on raising awareness while also offering compassion and equality for those who seek or want support through a network of mental health and suicide prevention activists and advocates.
The event will include a group photo, a photo booth, a $1 bake sale, a raffle and more.
Registration for the event is open until 11:59 p.m. Aug. 24. The cost is $17.50 per person and includes an event T-shirt.
Guest registration the day of the event will begin at 9 a.m. with the programming beginning at 10 a.m. The program will feature a guest speaker and attendee photo-op. The walk is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
