Incoming freshmen at UCM are being offered a leadership opportunity before the beginning of the fall semester.
Get Hooked on Impact Student Leadership Retreat is scheduled for July 25-27 on the UCM campus. This retreat provides students with an opportunity to meet some 200 other incoming freshman students in a three-day retreat designed to build relationships before the new school year.
The IMPACT Freshman Leadership Retreat will be filled with team building activities, informational sessions, special presentations, ice breakers and getting acclimated to the UCM campus.
One thing that makes IMPACT unique is that 35 UCM upperclass students will guide the students and answer questions.
The goal of IMPACT is to provide incoming freshmen the necessary tools to get involved at UCM. It is also meant to explain services and resources available to students. IMPACT also encourages students to think about how to develop leadership skills as well as providing networking opportunities.
The cost to attend the retreat is $90, which will include lodging, meals, an IMPACT T-shirt, and transportation to and from camp.
The application deadline is Wednesday, July 13.
